Egypt are facing Australia as the Round of 32 reaches its final stages.

The World Cup Round of 32 is drawing towards its conclusion, with Australia vs Egypt among the last three matches.

Australia's best World Cup finish has been a final 16 finish, something they have achieved twice.

Egypt meanwhile picked up their first ever World Cup win this tournament when they beat New Zealand 3-1.

The referee for tonight's game will be Uruguayan official Gustavo Tejera.

The 38-year-old is actually an insurance broker by trade, but has plenty of experience as a referee, including games in the Saudi Pro League as well as international tournaments including the Copa America and CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers.

This will be Tejera's second game at the tournament, after he took charge of Mexico's game against South Korea.

Tejera has developed a reputation as a no-nonsense referee with a whopping 1,733 yellow cards issued to date which currently averages out at just over five per match.

However, he was much more lenient in his game earlier this tournament, issuing just two yellows.

Alongside Tejera will be fellow Uruguayans Carlos Barreiro and Nicolas Taran, who will be assisting from the touchlines.

He will be joined by fourth official Sandro Scharer and reserve assistant referee Stephane De Almeida, both from Switzerland.

The winner of tonight's clash will go into the Round of 16 to face either Argentina or Cape Verde, with that game following later in the evening.

Lionel Messi and co are expected to win that game comfortably and would present a significant challenge for either Australia or Egypt.

From there on, a game against either Switzerland, Colombia or Ghana would await in the quarter-final.
