Norway international Justine Kielland has joined Aston Villa from German club Wolfsburg, subject to visa approval.
Defensive midfielder Kielland has progressed through Norway's youth set-up to become a regular in the senior national side with 16 caps.
The 23-year-old started her career with Stabaek before signing for fellow Norwegian side Brann in 2023.
She helped the club reach the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League, scoring four goals in 12 appearances, earning a move to Wolfsburg in 2024
"It's an amazing feeling," Kielland said. "I'm really excited now to finally be here. Putting on the jersey for the first time feels really good, I'm excited to get started.
"I'm looking forward to the competitiveness in the Women's Super League. You can see every team is getting better and the league is taking steps every year, so I'm really excited to test myself here as well."
Kielland said new Villa team-mate Lynn Wilms had spoken favourably about the club before the move.
"I had a call with Lynn and heard her thoughts," she added.
"Everything she said was positive and every person I've spoken to, has only had positive things to say. I'm really looking forward to getting started."
